Artist's Comments

a pile of dicarded cherry tree linbs, I pluckes a few blossomes from the pile. I spent the afternoon photographing them while enjoying their sweet candy smell. Their beauty at this one moment will be kept, perhaps longer then the tree itself will remaine.

Thank you very much, I have about 20 of these cherry blossom pictures comming, in the case you are interested. And the light, yes, from a silver sunset funny enough, any other day and thats where my llense would have been at.

Really? I am flattered, thank you! Well, one of these days I am going to find a way to subscribe so I can sell prints, but at the moment I can't. If I do get the chance to sell prints I will tell you though, thank you again.

What a lovely photo! The crystal-sharpness of the foreground blossom and branch and the soft wash of colors that the background becomes... it looks awesome! ^^ More than that, even, I like your description of the pic-- that comment about how this transient, delicate little blossom has overcome the fleetingness of its life by remaining in your pic forever is very relevant... the Japanese think about this very topic of impermanence when they look at cherry blossoms too, ne? ^^

Ara~~ I'm glad my comment made you happy! ^^ I know what you mean--often, comments (as kind as they are) consist of one sentence saying something like "that looks nice," ne? But maa, I guess that's just because my artwork is boring. ^^;;; Anyway, enjoy being in Japan! (especially during this month of hanami!) I hope you'll come visit my gallery too, when you have the time (although there isn't very much in there... ^^;;;; ). Keep up the good work!

Really nice! Reminds me of a artwork from Hokusai...
